Gersthofen, June 5th, 2019.
iconic skin, manufacturer of construction elements for glass façades, is represented at the Glass Performance Days (GPD), June 25th – 28th 2019, TähtiAreena, Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre (TESC), Finland. Product Manager René Schneider, is one of the speakers in the lecture programme. "Latest development in double-skin façades" is the title of Schneider’s speech, he will present the latest developments in ISOshade® technology to the glass specialists. The GPD is the networking event for the international glass industry. Parallel to the lecture programme, workshops and a trade exhibition will take place.
"We have continuously optimised and improved ISOshade® since its market launch in 2018. I will present the further developments and results at the GPD. Current project examples are showing a clear development: The ISOshade® technology delivers excellent building physics values and - in comparison to CCF - does not require mechanical ventilation. We can already say that ISOshade® technology is one of the façade solutions of the future," says René Schneider.
ISOshade® is an insulating glass unit with factory-integrated sun protection system. The insert element for façades consists of a triple insulating glass and a cavity with an internal sun protection system. The ingenious concept is based on a sealed cavity. A special pressure compensation system maintains the permissible climate loads in the cavity. This system ensures that, as temperatures fluctuate, the pressure in the cavity is kept at a permissible level. The cavity within ISOshade® conditions itself via a volume-dependent system. For further protection against condensation, the spacers are filled with a desiccant.
Façade monitoring included
In order to make tomorrow's facades even more intelligent, iconic skin is developing pre-maintenance software in cooperation with DigitalTWIN, a German research project. This will also be part of René Schneider’s presentation. Integrated sensor technology centralises the monitoring of the ISOshade® façade in the future. The sensors permanently measure temperature and humidity in the space between the panes and provide measurement and test data in real time that can be used for usage-dependent, more effective maintenance.
